Helen and Her Precious Students

Emails from St. Marians

From Shirley (Oct 12, 2006), F.7 student 2006-2007

Dear Mr. Ip,

Really thanks a lot for giving us the opportunity to get to know about you and Mrs. Ip. I don't know how to express, but then what I want to tell you is that I find many "love" in the webpage that you prepared for your wife. From all the memorial speech written by Mrs Ip's relatives, friends, and especially you, it was really touching and I can feel your love for her. I can feel that she was really a loving person and I can feel her love to God. You know when I first came across the announcement made by Sister about your webpage, I was really stunned. I was deeply impressed by your love to your wife. And I really appreciate that you tried to share this love with all of us. Thanks for that.

Two years have passed, I guess Mrs. Ip must be having a good time with God. And far away though she may be, she will always be there watching over you as her love for you will never fade. I will always keep you in my prayer. Once again, I would like to thank you for granting me the chance to get to know your lives. I think your love will add a meaning in every St. Marian's life after reading your web.

Sending you with my best wishes. May God bless you.

With love, Shirley

From Julia Cheung (Oct 11, 2006), a teacher in St. Mary's

I was very little when I was taught by Mrs Ip and therefore I have to admit that I only have a very vague memory of her. I vaguely remember it was she who taught us how to make a budget. Yet it is because of all the love and care that I got from all teachers in St. Mary's, including Mrs Ip, that I want to be a teacher here myself. I just want to say thank you for your sharing the memories of Mrs Ip with us, past and present St. Marians.

From Theresa Chan (2004)

I only want to recall the fact that Mrs. Helen Ip had helped me through the HK School Certificate Exam. I was very nervous and lack of confidence at that time. It was even my intention not to sit for the exam. Mrs. Ip had kindly given me her home phone number so that I could call her whenever I needed.

I passed my exams with flying colors --- one distinction and six credits. I got through the entrance exam for the College of Education. If my school cert result was not so good, I think I can only be a humble clerk or a salesgirl. I always remember her, my respectful Mrs. Helen Ip!!!
